Inc. getting in / out, forward and back,turning, moving sideways etc.  This is often completed during a come and
try it activity

2 Star         Key Skills -  A generic award for canoe and kayak
As for  1 Star, but looking for greater control and effectiveness.  A good understanding of how body,boat and
blade combine to make efficient movement.

3 Star        Craft specific
This is the award that shows a paddler is competent in the use of whatever discipline they have chosen. this
assessment may well be done on the sea, on open water or grade 2 sections of river.

4 Star        Craft Specific Journey Leadership
The award holder is certified to lead groups on able paddlers in moderate conditions.

5 Star         Craft Specific Journey Leadership
The award holder is certified to lead groups on able paddlers in advanced conditions.
